METHOD FOR GENERATING A 3D-HEATMAP FOR DISPLAYING A USER'S INTEREST IN A VIRTUAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT
Grant Number: 2022255868
This patent describes a novel method for generating a three‑dimensional heatmap that shows which parts of a virtual object attract a user’s attention. By tracking the path and gaze of a virtual camera in a 3D environment, the system calculates how long the user’s viewpoint intersects each point on the object’s surface.
After the viewing session, it renders a color‑coded 3D heatmap directly on the object to visualise interest levels. This technique can be applied by developers, educators or product designers to understand user behaviour and optimise VR/AR experiences.
